The Children’s Medical & Research Foundation want you to join our Crumlin team as we embark on one of the world’s most stunning and memorable walks yet. China, host to the 2008 Summer Olympics, is forever linked to its ancient civilization and many of the world’s most revered treasures, such as The Great Wall, Terra-Cotta Warriors & Horses and the Yangtze River.

Am I eligible to take part?
Our Great Wall of China Challenge Team is open to people over 18 years of age, whether or not you are an experienced walker or a novice. All we ask is that you have a good level of fitness, enjoy the simple pleasure of walking, getting to know a new and beautiful place and enjoy making new friends. We do require that once you agree to take up this challenge that you train for the walk to ensure that you are physically prepared. Don’t forget that even if you are accustomed to walking you will probably not be used to walking up to 8 hours every day sometimes walking on steep trails or difficult terrain.
What we need you to do
* Meet with a Development & Promotions Executive to discuss your participation
* Complete your Official Registration forms and pay non-refundable deposit of €500
* Raise a minimum of €5,500 prior to departure (including deposit)
* Attend the Pre-Event get together
* A signed medical form indicating that you are fit to travel and complete the challenge from your GP is mandatory
Remember
* ADVANCE TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL
* The walk is a challenge. We expect everyone to honour that challenge. Many of our routes will be on rough and unsteady terrain so appropriate footware and training are essential
* Fulfil your obligation to your sponsors and complete your target distance
* Have suitable clothing and footware for your challenge
* A visa must be issued before departure
