When most people hear the word superhero, they think Superman or Wonder Woman, fictional characters that day in day out battle all odds to win out against conspiring evil forces. Never would we dare to think that maybe superheroes could be real or for that matter walking and working amongst us. But we at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin are ready to reveal that there is nothing fictional about them; in fact at the hospital and research centre we are bombarded with them!
Superheroes abound at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. The staff, patients and their families every day demonstrate their incredible, extraordinary superhero powers battling the super villains of disease. Day in day out, we bear witness to epic struggles, with endless stories of Crumlin heroes on the frontline battling against all odds against these villainous rogues , our doctors, nurses and research staff arming and equipping them in their war and families and friends at the rear supporting their inspiring crusades. We want to celebrate our superheroes remarkable stories of triumph, we want to share their inspirational stories, we want you to invite you to stand with our heroes for a day and be a superhero for Crumlin. We want you and your family and friends to tog out as your favourite superhero and join us in Fota Wildlife Park, Cork on September 18th at 10.30. for a 5km fun run.
Our superheroes need a station to revive and give them replenished energy to continue their fight but the moment one of their stations aka St John’s Ward for our cancer patients just doesn’t come up to scratch. For this reason we want to refurbish and upgrade and we need your help. So join us today and locall us on 1890 507 508 or email info@cmrf.org.
The fundraising target is €150 per adult, €200 per family. Children enter for free. The proceeds will go towards The Children’s Cancer Fund, St. John’s Ward, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. The money you raise will also help our researchers find new ways to help in our heroes battle against cancer.
