The Phoenix Park was awash with superheroes Sunday 8thMay 2011 for the 5k Superhero fun run in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.
Young and old from across the country turned up dressed as their favourite superhero character to take part in the fun run and raise much needed funds for the hospital.
The most popular costumes on the day included superman and batman while several people even brought their pets along in costume to enjoy the festivities. Check out our photos below.
The hospital attempted a Guinness World Records™ for the most people dressed as superheroes in one place on the day but were quite a few heroes shy of the current world record of 1,580.
Thank you to everyone who turned up to take part in today’s run and Guinness World Records™ attempt. While we didn’t break the record on this occasion, the turnout was fantastic and most importantly we have raised vital funds for the hospital.
When most people hear the word superhero, they think Superman or Wonder Woman, fictional characters but at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin we have our very own superheroes who are a daily inspiration to us all! Thank you to everyone who took part.
If you didn't get a chance to take part this year we can promise you a full filled event next year. You can call our team and register your interest today 1890 507 508.
