Climb for Kids - Kilimanjaro Challenge 2010

09 October 2010 – 18 October 2010, Mount Kilimanjaro -Tanzania

 “Having climbed Machu Picchu last year in aid of Irish Autism Action, and learning of all the hurdles that sick children and their parents face on a daily basis, I immediately decided that if the opportunity arose again to help out a charity, especially one that aids children, I would be there in a heartbeat.

As a parent of 3 wonderful kids, I am grateful on a daily basis for their health.

However, there are children out there, who need expert care and medical attention, and the wonderful staff at Crumlin Children's Hospital provide that selflessly year after year.

I will dedicate my climb to those doctors and nurses, and to the many beautiful kids who have and will benefit from their love and expertise.”

Hi everyone. Sitting here by the pool in Moshi Tanzania about to head for the airport. The only way I can describe how I feel, is that this has been the most gruelling, painful, physically and mentally torturous, and fullfilling week of my life. I have shared the biggest challenge with an amazing and wonderful group of people, and I already know we are bonded for life. We laughed, cried, and clung to each other for dear life, and that was just in the niteclub last night!! lol YIKES!!!

Seriously, some amazing friendships forged, and I will never forget these folks. Ever!

I am heading home to see my beautiful wife Michelle and my 3 angels Joshy, Ava and Sophie.
My body feels like it has been hit by a train, but it was worth it for the cause.
